If you were driving and just holding a mobile phone then that is not an offence which carries 6 points nor is driving and using your phone as a camera, a sat nav, listening to music that has already been downloaded, listening to an audio book and so on – you have to be driving, holding the phone and using the phone for an ‘interactive communication’ for it to be an offence carrying 6 points. There’s a good chance I can help you avoid a ban if you were not driving, holding a phone and engaged in an ‘interactive communication’ such as speaking on the phone or sending a text/email.
